Journey from clarity to leadership

What we are built on

Six commitments that shape every client relationship

We are a consulting firm with convictions. These values decide how we advise, how we price our time and how we treat the businesses trusted to us.

Purpose

We start every engagement by understanding why your business exists. Purpose is not a poster on the wall, it is the filter we use when deciding what to build, what to fix and what to stop doing.

Integrity

We tell you what the numbers actually say. If a plan will not work, you will hear it from us early, in plain language, while there is still time to change course.

Stewardship

Your revenue, your team and your time are resources held in trust. We build systems that protect them, so growth does not quietly cost you your health or your margins.

Excellence

A small business can operate with the discipline of a large one. Documented processes, accurate records and consistent service are what turn a good idea into a durable company.

Hope

Many owners arrive discouraged. We work in a way that restores confidence: one clear decision at a time, with visible progress you can measure within the first quarter.

Servant Leadership

We are not here to take the wheel. We equip you and your team to lead well, then hand over the systems, templates and knowledge so the business no longer needs us to function.

The reality many women face

You did not start a business to spend your life rescuing it

You started it because you saw a need, a gift or a way to provide. Then the business filled every hour you had and quietly took the ones you did not.

A small business owner reviewing stock and figures on a tablet in her boutique workshop
  • You are the strategy, the admin and the after-hours support

Quotes, invoices, staff questions, SARS deadlines, social media, deliveries, all of it routes through you. The business does not grow because there is no version of your week where growth fits.

  • Cash comes in, but nobody can say where it goes

Turnover looks healthy. The bank balance disagrees. Without a management account or a simple cash-flow forecast, every decision becomes a guess dressed up as instinct.

  • Compliance feels like a trap you cannot see

CIPC annual returns, SARS registrations, VAT thresholds, B-BBEE affidavits, POPIA obligations. Nobody explained the sequence, so it becomes an anxiety you postpone rather than a checklist you complete.

  • Advice is either too expensive or too generic

Big firms quote for corporates. Free webinars speak to nobody in particular. What you need is someone who will sit with your actual numbers, your actual staff and your actual market.

  • You question whether you belong in the room

You have built something real, yet you rehearse before you speak in a boardroom or a bank meeting. Competence and confidence are not the same thing, and the gap between them is exhausting.

  • Family and business pull from the same account

Your business supports a household. Every operational risk is also a personal one. That weight is rarely acknowledged in standard business advice, and it changes how decisions should be made.

None of this means you are failing. It means you are running a business with the tools of a one-person operation while carrying the responsibilities of a company. That is a structural problem, and structural problems can be solved.

A business consultant working through a growth plan with a client at a table

Our promise

You will leave every session knowing exactly what changes next, who is responsible for it and how we will measure it.

There is another way

Practical consulting that gives you your business back

Her Legacy Consulting exists to replace overwhelm with structure. We do the unglamorous work, the processes, the numbers, the compliance, the leadership habits, because that is what makes a business calm, profitable and worth inheriting.

A partner, not a report

We work alongside you in your business, not above it. You get a consultant who knows your staff names, your busiest month and the client who always pays late.

Systems that reduce the noise

Documented processes, delegation-ready SOPs and simple administrative rhythms mean fewer decisions land on your desk each day.

Numbers you can act on

A cash-flow view, a pricing model and a monthly management rhythm turn financial anxiety into a set of choices with visible consequences.

Compliance handled in sequence

We map what is outstanding, what is urgent and what can wait, then work through it with you so registrations and returns stop being a background threat.

An integrated consulting ecosystem

Thirteen disciplines, one coordinated engagement

These are not thirteen separate products. Strategy sets the direction, operations and administration carry it, finance and compliance protect it, and leadership and branding sustain it. We start where the pressure is highest and connect the rest as your business is ready.

What services does Her Legacy Consulting offer?

Her Legacy Consulting offers thirteen connected consulting disciplines: business strategy, business operations consulting, administration solutions, tax and financial services, business coaching, business branding, leadership development, women empowerment and development, startup consulting, compliance, process optimisation, standard operating procedure development, and event and project coordination, delivered to women-owned businesses, SMEs and purpose-driven organisations across the Western Cape and Northern Cape.

Not sure which discipline your business needs first? That is exactly what the first conversation is for - request a consultation and we will help you name the real constraint before anything is scoped.

Business Strategy

A written plan for the next twelve months: who you serve, what you charge, where growth comes from and which opportunities you will decline.

Decisions become faster because the criteria are already agreed.

Read the full explanation

What it is. Business strategy is a written decision about where a business will compete, what it will charge, which customers it will serve and which opportunities it will decline over a defined period.

Why it matters. Without a strategy, every opportunity looks equally attractive and the business spreads itself thin. A written strategy makes trade-offs visible before they are made expensively.

Who needs it. Owners of established small businesses, family businesses and SMEs who are trading well but cannot explain in one page where growth will come from next year.

Outcomes it creates.
  • A twelve-month plan with named priorities and quarterly measures
  • Clear criteria for accepting or declining work
  • A growth path that matches actual capacity and cash

How we deliver it. We run a structured Discover session, review the numbers and the market, then facilitate the trade-off decisions with you before writing the plan into a document your team can act on.

Administration Solutions

Filing systems, quoting and invoicing workflows, supplier records and client onboarding built so that any trained person can run them.

Admin stops living in your inbox and your head.

Read the full explanation

What it is. Administration solutions are the filing, quoting, invoicing, onboarding and record-keeping workflows that carry the daily running of a business.

Why it matters. Administration is where profit quietly leaks. Unsent invoices, lost quotes and missing records cost real money and are almost always invisible on a profit and loss statement.

Who needs it. Businesses where the owner is still the administrator, and teams where information lives in personal inboxes, notebooks or a single person's memory.

Outcomes it creates.
  • Quotes and invoices issued on a predictable cycle
  • Client and supplier records that any trained person can find
  • Administrative time reduced and no longer owner-dependent

How we deliver it. We map how work currently moves, remove duplicated steps, install simple tools your team will actually use, then document and train on the new workflow.

Tax & Financial Services

Bookkeeping structure, SARS registrations and submissions, VAT readiness, pricing models and a monthly management rhythm you can actually maintain.

You know your margin, your runway and your tax position.

Read the full explanation

What it is. Tax and financial services cover bookkeeping structure, SARS registrations and submissions, VAT readiness, pricing models and a monthly management reporting rhythm.

Why it matters. A business cannot be led on a bank balance. Without management numbers, owners price too low, provision too little for tax and discover problems only once they are expensive.

Who needs it. Owners who do not know their true margin per job, businesses approaching the VAT threshold, and anyone whose tax affairs are handled once a year in a rush.

Outcomes it creates.
  • Known margin, runway and tax position each month
  • Submissions filed on time with provisioning in place
  • Pricing rebuilt on real costs rather than market guesswork

How we deliver it. We structure the books, set up a monthly reporting pack you can read in fifteen minutes, and work alongside your accountant rather than replacing them.

Women Empowerment & Development

Programmes and one-to-one work that build commercial confidence: negotiation, pricing conversations, boardroom presence and self-advocacy.

You lead the meeting instead of surviving it.

Read the full explanation

What it is. Women empowerment and development is structured programme and one-to-one work that builds commercial confidence: negotiation, pricing conversations, boardroom presence and self-advocacy.

Why it matters. Technical skill is rarely the limiting factor for women business owners. The limiting factor is more often the room where the price is negotiated and the contract is awarded.

Who needs it. Women entrepreneurs, women-owned businesses, community leaders and teams of emerging women managers inside larger organisations.

Outcomes it creates.
  • Prices quoted without apology or discount reflex
  • Stronger performance in negotiations and tender interviews
  • A peer network that continues after the programme ends

How we deliver it. We deliver this as facilitated group programmes for organisations and as private sessions for individual owners, always with practical rehearsal rather than theory.

Discuss this service

Event & Project Coordination

Planning, budgeting, supplier management and on-the-day coordination for launches, training days, community programmes and funded projects.

Projects deliver on time without consuming the core business.

Read the full explanation

What it is. Event and project coordination is the planning, budgeting, supplier management and on-the-day delivery of launches, training days, community programmes and funded projects.

Why it matters. Projects run on top of a full-time business almost always overrun. A dedicated coordinator protects both the project deadline and the trading that funds it.

Who needs it. Organisations running funded programmes, businesses hosting launches or training, and community leaders delivering events with reporting obligations.

Outcomes it creates.
  • A budget that holds and suppliers that deliver
  • Clear reporting for funders and stakeholders
  • Core business trading uninterrupted during delivery

How we deliver it. We take the plan, the budget and the supplier relationships, run the critical path, and hand you a reporting pack at the end.

Business Operations Consulting

An end-to-end review of how work actually flows, from enquiry to delivery to payment, and a redesign that removes the bottlenecks.

Capacity increases without adding headcount first.

Read the full explanation

What it is. Business operations consulting is an end-to-end review of how work flows from enquiry to delivery to payment, followed by a redesign that removes the bottlenecks.

Why it matters. Most capacity problems are flow problems. Businesses hire before they examine the hand-offs, and end up paying more people to work inside the same congestion.

Who needs it. Service businesses with delivery backlogs, growing teams with unclear responsibilities, and owners considering hiring to solve a workload problem.

Outcomes it creates.
  • Shorter turnaround times without additional headcount
  • Defined responsibilities at every hand-off
  • A measurable reduction in rework

How we deliver it. We observe the real process rather than the described one, measure the delays, redesign the flow with the team, then confirm the improvement held after a full trading cycle.

Startup Consulting

Company registration, banking, first pricing, minimum viable systems and a realistic launch budget for founders in their first eighteen months.

You start structured instead of repairing later.

Read the full explanation

What it is. Startup consulting covers company registration, banking, first pricing, minimum viable systems and a realistic launch budget for founders in their first eighteen months.

Why it matters. Decisions made in the first year are the most expensive to reverse. Entity type, pricing and record keeping set the ceiling for everything that follows.

Who needs it. First-time founders, side businesses becoming full-time, and community entrepreneurs formalising work they have already been doing informally.

Outcomes it creates.
  • A registered, compliant, bankable business from the start
  • Pricing that covers cost and pays the founder
  • A launch budget grounded in real figures

How we deliver it. We work through a founder's checklist together, complete the registrations, and set up the small number of systems a new business genuinely needs.

Discuss this service

Compliance

CIPC annual returns, SARS obligations, B-BBEE affidavits, POPIA basics and sector requirements, mapped into a calendar with owners and dates.

Compliance becomes routine rather than crisis.

Read the full explanation

What it is. Compliance is the management of CIPC annual returns, SARS obligations, B-BBEE affidavits, POPIA responsibilities and sector requirements against a calendar with owners and dates.

Why it matters. Non-compliance blocks contracts, tenders and finance long before it produces a penalty. Most businesses lose opportunities they never learn they were excluded from.

Who needs it. Businesses tendering for public or corporate work, companies with lapsed CIPC or SARS standing, and organisations handling client personal information.

Outcomes it creates.
  • Current standing with CIPC and SARS
  • Documentation ready when a tender or lender asks
  • Obligations tracked routinely rather than remembered late

How we deliver it. We audit current status, resolve what is outstanding, then hand over a compliance calendar with responsibilities assigned inside your business.

Discuss this service

Business Coaching

Scheduled accountability sessions where we review commitments, unblock decisions and keep the strategy moving between formal engagements.

Momentum survives the busy months.

Read the full explanation

What it is. Business coaching is a scheduled accountability partnership where commitments are reviewed, decisions unblocked and strategy kept moving between formal pieces of work.

Why it matters. Plans fail in the gap between deciding and doing. A fixed review date converts intentions into completed work far more reliably than motivation does.

Who needs it. Owners who know what to do but keep being pulled into daily operations, and leaders carrying decisions alone with no one to test their thinking against.

Outcomes it creates.
  • Priorities completed inside the quarter they were set
  • Faster, better-tested decisions
  • Momentum maintained through the busy months

How we deliver it. We meet on a fixed rhythm, review what was committed, work through whatever is blocked, and set the next set of commitments in writing.

Discuss this service

Business Branding

Positioning, messaging, visual consistency and client-facing collateral that match the quality of the work you already deliver.

Your market understands your value before the first meeting.

Read the full explanation

What it is. Business branding is the positioning, messaging, visual consistency and client-facing collateral that communicate the quality of the work before a client experiences it.

Why it matters. Buyers judge credibility long before they judge capability. Inconsistent branding makes excellent businesses look smaller and less established than they are.

Who needs it. Established businesses whose materials no longer match their standard, and founders whose offer is understood locally but not beyond it.

Outcomes it creates.
  • A clear, consistent explanation of what you do and for whom
  • Professional collateral for proposals and tenders
  • Higher-quality enquiries and shorter sales conversations

How we deliver it. We establish positioning first, write the core messaging with you, and then apply it consistently across every place a client meets the business.

Discuss this service

Leadership Development

Practical management skills for owners and their supervisors: delegation, performance conversations, team rhythms and succession thinking.

The business can operate when you are not in the room.

Read the full explanation

What it is. Leadership development is practical management capability for owners and supervisors: delegation, performance conversations, team rhythms and succession thinking.

Why it matters. A business cannot outgrow the capability of the people leading it. Structure fails quickly when nobody has been taught how to hold a team to it.

Who needs it. Owners promoting their first managers, family businesses preparing the next generation, and teams growing past the size one person can supervise directly.

Outcomes it creates.
  • Work delegated with clear standards and follow-through
  • Difficult conversations handled early and calmly
  • A team that can operate when the owner is unavailable

How we deliver it. We coach leaders inside their real situations rather than in workshops, using their live team issues as the material.

Discuss this service

SOP Development

Written standard operating procedures for your critical tasks, with checklists and templates your team can follow from day one.

Training time drops and service quality stays consistent.

Read the full explanation

What it is. SOP development is the writing of standard operating procedures for critical tasks, with the checklists and templates a team can follow from the first day.

Why it matters. Undocumented knowledge is a business risk. When a procedure lives only in one person's head, that person cannot take leave, be promoted or be replaced safely.

Who needs it. Businesses training new staff repeatedly, teams with inconsistent output, and owners preparing to step back from delivery.

Outcomes it creates.
  • Faster onboarding with less supervision
  • Consistent service quality across the team
  • Knowledge retained when people move on

How we deliver it. We observe the task being done well, write it up in plain language, test it with someone who has not done it before, then finalise it.

Discuss this service

Process Optimisation

Measurement of turnaround times, error rates and hand-offs, followed by targeted changes and a review to confirm the improvement held.

Improvements are proven, not assumed.

Read the full explanation

What it is. Process optimisation is the measurement of turnaround times, error rates and hand-offs, followed by targeted changes and a review confirming the improvement held.

Why it matters. Improvement that is not measured is only an opinion. Measurement is what separates a genuine efficiency gain from a change that simply moved the problem.

Who needs it. Businesses whose delivery times are slipping, teams with recurring rework, and owners who have already tried new software without the results improving.

Outcomes it creates.
  • Quantified reductions in turnaround time and rework
  • Fewer hand-offs and clearer ownership
  • Evidence that the improvement survived a full cycle

How we deliver it. We baseline the current performance, change one thing at a time, and re-measure after a full trading cycle before recommending the next change.

Our proprietary methods

Three frameworks that make our consulting repeatable

Advice is easy to give and hard to act on. These are the named methods behind every Her Legacy Consulting engagement, the same structure applied whether we are working with a first-year startup in Mitchells Plain or an established family business in Paarl.

What frameworks does Her Legacy Consulting use?

Her Legacy Consulting works through three proprietary frameworks. The Legacy Growth Framework™ moves a business through Discover, Clarify, Build, Strengthen and Lead. The HER Success Framework™ honours the vision, establishes the structure and reinforces the systems. The Purpose to Profit Roadmap™ turns meaningful work into sustainable margin by pricing for value, protecting margin and reinvesting in capacity.

The Legacy Growth Framework™

The Legacy Growth Framework™ is Her Legacy Consulting's five-stage method for taking a business from reactive trading to structured growth: Discover, Clarify, Build, Strengthen and Lead. Each stage has a defined outcome, so an owner always knows what is being built, who owns it and how success will be measured.

Use this framework when the business is trading but decisions, admin and cash flow all still run through the owner.

  1. 01

    Discover

A structured review of the current business: revenue, costs, staffing, systems, compliance status and the owner's own capacity. Nothing is redesigned before it is understood.

  2. 02

    Clarify

Observations become priorities. Three to five changes are agreed for the quarter, sequenced, with named owners, dates and the measures that will prove they worked.

  3. 03

    Build

The practical work: pricing rebuilt, cash-flow forecast created, standard operating procedures written, compliance filed and workflows installed with the team trained on them.

  4. 04

    Strengthen

The new structure is tested under real trading conditions. Monthly reviews compare planned to actual and correct weak processes before they harden into habits.

  5. 05

    Lead

Focus shifts from fixing to leading: management rhythm, delegation, team capability and a growth plan that no longer depends on the owner being in every room.

The HER Success Framework™

The HER Success Framework™ describes how Her Legacy Consulting works with women business owners across three commitments: Honour the vision, Establish the structure and Reinforce the systems. It keeps the founder's purpose intact while the commercial foundations of the business are strengthened.

Use this framework when the business carries real personal meaning and the owner wants growth that does not cost her the reason she started.

  1. 01

    Honour the vision

We begin with what the business is for. Purpose, values, the life the owner wants and the community she serves become the criteria every later decision is tested against.

  2. 02

    Establish the structure

Legal entity, pricing, financial records, compliance calendar and roles are put in place, the commercial foundations that let a purpose-driven business trade safely and profitably.

  3. 03

    Reinforce the systems

Documented processes, workflows and management routines make performance repeatable, so quality survives growth, staff turnover and the owner taking leave.

The Purpose to Profit Roadmap™

The Purpose to Profit Roadmap™ is Her Legacy Consulting's commercial sequence for turning meaningful work into a financially sustainable business: price for value, protect margin, then reinvest in capacity. It answers the question most purpose-driven founders avoid, whether the business can actually fund the impact it wants to have.

Use this roadmap when the work is in demand and well regarded, but the money left at the end of the month does not reflect the effort.

  1. 01

    Price for value

Costs, time and delivered outcome are calculated properly, then pricing is rebuilt so every engagement funds the business rather than being subsidised by the owner.

  2. 02

    Protect margin

Cash-flow forecasting, tax provisioning, supplier terms and scope discipline keep the improved pricing from leaking away through unbilled work and late payment.

  3. 03

    Reinvest in capacity

Retained profit is deliberately deployed into people, systems and equipment, so growth compounds instead of consuming the owner's remaining hours.

Each framework is applied to your specific business rather than handed over as a template. If you would like to see how one of them would map onto your current position, request a consultation and we will walk through it with you.

The Her Legacy journey

Five stages from overwhelmed to leading well

Every engagement follows the same disciplined path. You always know which stage you are in, what is being built and what comes next.

  1. 01Session one

    Discover

We start with a structured consultation. You describe the business, the pressure points and what you want your life to look like in three years. We review what exists already, financials, contracts, staffing, systems and compliance status, and identify what is missing.

    What you walk away with

A written picture of where the business truly stands today.

  2. 02Weeks one to two

    Clarify

We turn observations into priorities. Together we agree the three to five changes that will make the biggest difference this quarter, the order they happen in, and the measures that will tell us they worked.

    What you walk away with

An agreed roadmap with owners, dates and success measures.

  3. 03Weeks two to eight

    Build

This is the practical work: pricing rebuilt, cash-flow forecast created, SOPs written, compliance items filed, administrative workflows installed and staff trained on the new way of working.

    What you walk away with

Working systems your team uses, not documents in a folder.

  4. 04Months two to six

    Strengthen

We test the new structure under real trading conditions. Monthly reviews compare planned to actual, expose what is not holding and refine it. Weak processes are corrected before they become habits.

    What you walk away with

Evidence that the improvements survive a normal busy month.

  5. 05Ongoing

    Lead

The focus shifts from fixing to leading. We develop your management rhythm, your delegation, your team's capability and your longer-term growth plan, so the business grows without depending on your constant presence.

    What you walk away with

An owner leading a company, not a founder holding it together.

The language of a stronger business

The foundations every growing business is measured on

Consulting only works when both sides mean the same thing by the same words. These are the concepts we return to in every engagement, defined plainly so you can use them in your own planning.

What makes a small business financially and operationally sound?

A sound business has six things in place: clear foundations, documented systems, forecast cash flow, current compliance, capable leadership and enough resilience to absorb a bad month. Strategy determines direction, but these foundations determine whether the business survives long enough for the strategy to matter.

Business systems
The repeatable ways work gets done, enquiry handling, quoting, delivery, invoicing and follow-up. A business with systems produces the same standard of work whether or not the owner is watching.
Operational excellence
Consistently delivering on promises at a predictable cost and turnaround. It is measured in error rates, delivery times and repeat business, not in how hard the team is working.
Cash flow
The timing of money in and money out. Profitable businesses fail when cash arrives later than it leaves, which is why forecasting matters more than the annual financial statements.
Business governance
The obligations that keep a company legally sound: CIPC annual returns, SARS submissions, POPIA handling of personal information, contracts and record keeping, each with an owner and a date.
Business resilience
The ability to absorb a shock, a lost client, load shedding, a late payer, illness, without the business stopping. Resilience comes from reserves, documentation and a team that can act.
Business foundations
Registration, banking, pricing, bookkeeping, insurance and basic contracts. Foundations are unglamorous and they determine whether growth compounds or collapses.

Trading without structure compared with the Legacy Growth Framework™

Most owners are not short of effort. They are short of structure. The difference shows up in the same six places every time.

A comparison of trading without structure against working through the Legacy Growth Framework
Area of the businessTrading without structureWorking through the Legacy Growth Framework™
Decision makingDecisions are made in the moment and revisited constantly, because there are no agreed criteria.Decisions are tested against a written strategy, so they are faster and hold longer.
PricingPrices are set by what competitors charge or what feels acceptable to ask.Prices are built from costs, time and delivered outcome, then reviewed against margin.
Cash flowCash position is discovered by checking the bank balance.A rolling forecast shows shortfalls weeks before they arrive.
DeliveryQuality depends on who happens to do the work that week.Documented procedures keep the standard consistent across the team.
ComplianceDeadlines are remembered late, and penalties are treated as the cost of being busy.A compliance calendar assigns every obligation an owner and a date.
The owner's roleThe owner is the bottleneck and the business pauses when she does. The owner leads, and the business continues without her in every room.

Business insight

In most small businesses we review, the constraint is not sales. It is that the work already sold cannot be delivered profitably or repeatably.

Common mistake

Investing in marketing before fixing pricing and delivery. More enquiries into a leaking system simply produce more tired weeks at the same margin.

Professional tip

Document the three tasks you would have to explain if you were away for two weeks. That short exercise usually reveals the first system worth building.

Communities we proudly serve

Consulting that understands the Cape, town by town

A business in Springbok does not face the same conditions as one in Cape Town. Distance from suppliers, seasonal income, client payment culture and access to finance all differ, and advice that ignores that is advice you cannot use.

We work across the Western Cape and Northern Cape, in person where travel makes sense and online where it does not. Wherever your business trades, the engagement is the same standard: structured, practical and grounded in your actual operating conditions.

Women building legacies

A business is one of the most powerful things a woman can steward

When a woman builds a stable business, the effects rarely stop with her. A child stays in school. A household stops living month to month. Two or three people are employed, and their families feel it too. A younger woman in the same street sees that it is possible.

That is why we treat strategy, bookkeeping and standard operating procedures as meaningful work. Structure is what allows good intentions to last. A business that survives its founder's tired seasons is a business that can employ, contribute and give for decades.

Success is not measured only by profit. It is measured by the lives your business is able to carry.

Our work is shaped by convictions drawn from a Christian understanding of stewardship, wisdom, integrity and service, the belief that what we build is held in trust and meant to benefit others. Those convictions govern how we work. They are never a requirement for working with us. Women and businesses of every faith and background are genuinely welcome here.

Why choose Her Legacy Consulting

What makes this partnership different

There is no shortage of business advice in South Africa. There is a shortage of advisers who will sit with your real numbers, in your real town, and stay until the change holds.

Practical experience, not theory

Our advice comes from running operations, managing money and fixing businesses under pressure, not from a template library.

A personal partnership

You work directly with a senior consultant for the length of the engagement. Nothing is handed down to a junior you have never met.

Purpose-driven approach

Profit matters because of what it makes possible: employment, stability, dignity and time with the people you love.

Operational depth

We are comfortable in the detail, stock, scheduling, quoting, hand-offs, because that is where most margin is quietly lost.

Financial understanding

Pricing, cash flow, tax and compliance are treated as one connected system, not as separate emergencies.

Commitment to underserved communities

We deliberately serve towns where experienced business support is scarce, and we structure engagements so it is reachable.

Premium yet approachable

High standards, plain language, no jargon and no judgement about where your business is starting from.

Candice Ohlson, Founder and Lead Business Consultant at Her Legacy Consulting

Meet our founder

Candice Ohlson, Founder & Lead Business Consultant

Candice founded Her Legacy Consulting after years of working inside the operational and financial detail of small businesses, the quoting, the compliance deadlines, the staffing decisions and the month-end pressure that rarely appear in business books.

Her consulting philosophy is simple: dignity first, then structure, then growth. Owners are met without judgement about the state of their records, given a clear picture of where they stand, and then equipped with systems they can run themselves long after the engagement ends.

She leads the practice from the Western Cape and works throughout the Northern Cape, with a particular commitment to towns where experienced business support has always been difficult to reach. The firm is deliberately built around the work rather than around her name, a legacy, by definition, must outlast the person who started it. You can read the full story behind the practice, our values and our five-stage framework on the about Her Legacy Consulting page.

Trusted references

The official bodies every South African business should know

We work inside the real regulatory landscape, not around it. These are the institutions we reference when we build your compliance calendar, funding strategy and governance systems.

Not sure which of these apply to your business yet? That is exactly what a first conversation is for. See how our consulting services work, read the story behind Her Legacy Consulting, or request a consultation and we will map it with you.

Questions, answered

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers to what business owners ask us most often before their first consultation.

Request a consultation

Start with one honest conversation

Tell us where your business stands. We will read it properly, respond personally and arrange a consultation that respects your time.

  1. Step 1. We review your request personally, usually within one to two business days.

  2. Step 2. We confirm a consultation time that fits around your trading hours.

  3. Step 3. We meet online or in person and work through your priorities together.

  4. Step 4. You receive our honest view of what to change first, with no obligation to continue.

Every enquiry is handled through this form so that nothing is lost between inboxes. Your information is used only to respond to your request and is handled in line with POPIA.

Every legacy begins with one courageous decision

Not a perfect plan. Not a bigger budget. Just one decision to stop carrying the business alone and start building it properly. You already have the courage, this is simply the next step.
